Till Secret Spot close in.

Went for a dive this morning and Till put us right on the spot. Even though it was surgey we managed a few.  Many of the crays were deep in the holes and not reachable and they were very skittish.  Conditions were nice going out, but it started to pickup when we were coming in at about 1pm.

There were a lot of bigger, badder and more sneaky ones out there but they were terribly skittish with the surge and the moon perhaps.

Pete: saving your dive spots for a special day, it could be soon :P

More: I just ate two with the family after I paid the ute tax and the brother dropped over etc.I thought the size was a bit off after yesteday but some of the legs on those were just huge and I got to knock them off while Andrea and Otto were in the shower.

I got onto some really different ground on that dive and saw fish I haven't ever really noticed off Hillarys before. Something like a bream but with a pointy nose and more spikey, a cobbler that was so freaking huge I thought it was a wobby and gave it space and a few other weirdies. Pity I couldn't get the snare around the cobbler, it really didn't want to let me do that.

It's a red, exactly the same as the rest, but it did not molt.

KC was wondering when you would chime in. This was posted for your benefit! LOL!  Time to fly in for a dive.  I think we have 10 -14 days before they start walking.  This lot are still soft, but they are firmer then those we got last week.

Yeah it was just a little

Tue, 2009-12-01 20:32

Yeah it was just a little red, not a Southern.

That said, only the 2 smallest were under 80mm. Irritatingly the little red was in front of a big red and I had no choice to lift him, clear the scene and come back for another go, but he was way too wary.

Kasey: yeah plenty here, they won't last long though =0
