Bulldogs
Been a South Fremantle supporter since I was about 12 or 13 and Collingwood since about 1968 when I stayed with sister and brother in law in Sheparton , he was a Pies fanatic and it rubbed off.

I got a soft spot for the Bullies. You would have followed them through the golden age of WAFL footy with legends like Michael and Rioli and possibly Todd?
If you can find a copy this is one of the best books you'll ever read and covers Todd's career through the early days at Souths and his battles with the Swans board etc catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/3103987

Saturday arvos
Saturday arvos used to be in front of the tv , taking turns on who's place each week, watching WA footy and hoping your team was playing as it wasn't advertised what teams were going to be shown . Half a carton of bottles or steel cans and a packet of Winnie reds and you were set. Card game after the footy had finished.

Old times
Used to get away most weekends when the weather would permit and some where we were young, dumb and fill of c## where we reckoned we knew the weather would be ok and it didnt eventuate, trips frm Parrys right along the south coast through to Augusta, the best being around Emu Springs west of White Point before they shut off access through the farm, and from Augusta up the west coast to Preston beach into places like South Conto and Kilcarnup when we only had a Valiant ute and a couple of Honda 3 wheelers as transport.
First trip to Quobba was in late sixties where after the first 4 casts it was back to the tackle box and ice box for another spool of 40lb line and a cold can after being spooled again using an Abu 1000 overhead and not being able to stop whatever ripped me off
