Thinking of heading down to the north mole tomorrow morning for some bread and butter fish you know- whiting herring or a nice lizard! Or some squid if there's any around!Never fished there before so I don't know what side or how far along to go any tip would be appreciated!!
I'm using bait but can't get my hands on burley

Cant find any to buy or youre allergic to it????? Just turn up, scalp the stones and if someone is catchin just ping their burleyed up spot lol
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Anywhere between the toilets
Anywhere between the toilets and lighthouse, either side, closer to the lighthouse the better. Take a heavier setup and soak a bigger bait as well. What bait you using?

Was only there for half an hour before it started bucketing down this morning! But still managed to hook a good looking flounder (32cm) never caught one before so I chucked him back for next time because I had no ideas how to gut him or what the size limit was

That's a massive flounder for around here! Weird looking things though, and you only get one fillet from them but they're delicious!

flounder
flounder are delicious best way i have found to clean them is head and gut them. Then run a knife along each side just cutting the skin then getting a finger under the skin and start peeling it off from memory it works best starting from the head to tail what you are left with is a perfect skinless flounder ready for the frypan cook him up and pick the flesh from around the bones
