Toolbox addition to JetSki Fishing Rig

Hi guys, here is my addition to my JetSki Fishing rig. The red toolbax platform on the left back. Now it will be easier to carry more fishing gear for quick change over of my rigs.

Cheers

Nice rig JR Jetski. The bracket that the esky and rod holders have, is that easily removed from the ski? or is it screwed and bolted down?

Three straps and it all comes of. Only thing that is fixed is my sounder. No holes drilled in the Ski except for the sounder wire.

hi jr

just an enquiry

for the ammount of $ you would of spent would it not be better buying a boat?

or is it the fun of the jet ski fishen, i assume you are getting into the tight spots where boats cant go... like reef and so on.

just wondering, because your rego and so on would not be far of mine and i have a 6.5mtr boat.

cheers ron

I could have bought a secondhand boat and probably cheaper than the setup I have but for me it's the ease of a few things. Its' easy to clean after fishing, easy to launch and retrieve at ramp or beach, light weight and fast, can play with the ski if I take off the rig, challange when catching a big fish, its me and the fish, no help to get it on board. Can handle the waves quite well if you have to negotiate any when heading out. The maintenance on the ski is fairly cheap. If it roles over you can right it and get going again, that is of coarce if you do it in time. Family can enjoy the ski as well, especially the boys.

A disadvantage though is that we can only head out 5 NM. I personnaly think this is a lot of nonsense because I have the same safety gear as what is carried on a boat + the ski has a 70 litre fuel tank. Can go about 140 km on tha with ease.

Choppy seas is a bit uncomfortable to fish in as well but its the way it is. I think it affects smaller boats the same way. The speed of the Ski is good in calm water but you cant go fast in choppy seas (not good to go airborne with all the rig on the back).

Cheers
