Topwater Tuna action in Costa Rica
Months ago I took a trip to Costa Rica and wrote a little report here http://fishwrecked.com/forum/costa-rica-tuna-sailfish-trip-photos-video
Now I've finally finished my little edit of the fishing.
Short of it is, chasing Spinner Dolphins around for Yellowfin Tuna, once located start throwing stickbaits and plastics at busting fish and then shout with excitement at the awesome surface strikes..
Pay close attention to 1.22
Pretty damn good

Filmed mostly with a Gopro Session 1080P at 60FPS Protune on (not entirely stoked with the picture quality, alot of noise and bad shading)
Watch in HD and it still looks great though.
Cheers,
Kurt

The moment the trip nearly ended...
Tuna are awesome.

Hahaha I'm glad someone
Hahaha I'm glad someone picked up on this, yes I defintely almost lost my Saltiga combo in there.
Thats a good point Scano, We were constantly moving so I'm not sure a livie would have been viable, we did have a teaser in the water though as we were definitely in Sailfish territory.

Running an old Daiwa Saltiga
Running an old Daiwa Saltiga 4500 with SOM spool, rod was a Saltiga 63S PE4. I had a Yamaga popping outfit setup for exactly this and I arrived in Costa Rica to find the top snapped off the Yamaga, not happy, thanks TSA.

Nothing, just nothing, beats topwater
You just can't beat popper and surface stickbaits for fun. Seeing 10 kg of longtail or 15kg plus of spaniard greyhounding out of the water directly behind your lure then swallowing it midair, nothing beats that.
