Had one from new mate, done about 90 000km in her now and all been trouble free. They're nothing fancy but super reliable with loads of torque for towing. Towed a 3 tonne van around Australia and tow a 3.2 tonne boat with it now with no hassles. Excellent offroad with the factory diff locks as well. Not a hell of alot of room in the back, once an engel and a few other bits an pieces are thrown in it's pretty well full so a roof rack is a must for extended camping trips etc if your not towing your accomodation. Use about 14-15l per 100km but this goes up to around 20 - 22L towing approx 3 tonne.

The wagon is a shorter wheel

Sat, 2014-03-29 15:57

The wagon is a shorter wheel base, makes the ride a bit choppy, and they are fairly cozy if your a big lad, seat will be all the way back, and that pretty m,uch means, no-one can sit behind you, no one with legs anyway.  Fule consumption is a  ig one, pretty variable.  I know with a bit of lift and 33's the one i drove was using around 16-17l/100km doing 110km/h.  Like all the new diesels, clean fuel is non negotiable, a big water seperator and filter placed BEFORE the factory unti will be good insurance, keep the servicing up and keep an eye on the oil consumption, and  no reason it shouldnt last 200k+.  obviously dont buy an ex miner unless you can get it cheap and find a fairly un molested model, cause hat money you save, should be reinvested into the vehicle to get into into shape.  Also wheel spacers on the backend, fix up the rear wheel track issue, helps bigtime.
