Nothing conclusive
Nothing conclusive Marc, just missing at this stage. Water and apparent intoxication - never a good combination.

Current
Yup, the current through there is quiet substantial - been through there many times in the tub - last time was with a nervous very slow skipper ahead of me and some ego nut astern of me in a fly bridge cruiser

Yep, it can be a nightmare fishing there trying to hold the bottom even while using snapper leads.
Great fishing spot though. Best spot to get a biggest mixed bag

Hey guys my little mate and i were fishing there last nite and we were the two blokes who made the report we were fishing off the platform at the time . we notice bloke that was very intoxicated with some substance coming towards us and he was making my little mate quite scared so we decide to leave by walking around the other side of the plat form to get on to the walk bridge he was on the metal beam that you walk along to get to the plat form and as we were walking away we herd this massive splash!!! then the next thing you no he was gone so we called the police .

Hey Lockie, that must of
Hey Lockie, that must of been pretty bad for ya.
Me and mates have a agreement that if one of us falls in that no one else jump in. Better to loose 1 life than 2 or more so you did the right thing
I was there once when a homeless person smashed there head on one of them beams above the walkway and they fell in but it was in the shallows. They still needed a ambulance due to neck injuries.
Hey was the current rushing through? What part did he fall from?

hard to hold the bottom
yeah it is always a mission trying to hold the bottom when the current is rushing through there. I have had nights when we have tried using 3x star sinkers and still can't hold the bottom! Nowdays I normally look up B.O.M and tidal predictions before we go there because if the current is running at that time you will be there, you have got buckley's on holding the bottom.
Hopefully no pissed dude's fall in the drink whilst we are there. I do enough paperwork at work let alone police reports. hahaha

Yea sure was mate and i tell
Yea sure was mate and i tell yah the police are funny sometimes aye i got a phone call from the cops the next nite and they said they had searched the area of the river on the harbour side of the train bridge when i had clearly reported that there was i high chance of him being in between the train bridge and the old traffice bridge and i told him that and they said they will that this time. then i recive a phone call i think one or two days later saying they had found him exactly where i said the first time i think they took the tidde in to account to much i mean they prob wouldn't of found him alive but they would of found him earlier than they did if they had klisten to what my report said the first time. the out come was bad neways but aleats they found him!! my little mate is still having nightmares due to the fact that he knows he died which it is quite scary .
i wish the family all the best

I thought that the way the current rips through , he would be out halfway to rotto or stuck under the wharf on the northern side.
Apparently on the news they were saying he was a aboriginal fella

The annoying thing is that because of people being stupid and irresponsible they will probably block access to all people soon enough. Grrrrr

yeah true but as far as im
yeah true but as far as im aware, there has been 3 i know of and most proberly more many years back drown there.
There used to be a sign as you walk onto the walkway saying acsess to the walkway and platforms was for repairs and maintinance on the bridge also said enter at own risk.
I have also head that very soon they are either going to build a new traffic bridge or upgrade the old one.
Just hope they have good fishing acsess
