Trailer Adjustment

 Hey All,

I need to have some adjustment made to my trailer to balance weight properly - probably by moving my axles back. Any recommendations ?

Cheers

Jack the chassis up to take

Jack the chassis up to take all load off wheels then loosen bolts holding the angle brackets that your springs are mounted to, mark the chassis on the end of the angle brackets with a texta to use as a reference point and slowly move the brackets in the required direction. Tighten up when happy. PS Leave the trailer hooked up to your vehicle and use axle stands if available.

Yeah, I know I could do

Yeah, I know I could do it.... but I need ball weight scales etc. and I’ve got brake lines to think about too. The trailer is dangerous at the moment and want someone qualified to adjust it properly.

We knew the weight of the trailer and boat from previously going over the weigh bridge so they just moved the axle back until the towball weight was good

Yep that’s also an option

Yep that’s also an option mate. I have a bit of room to move there but I just don’t know how far I need to drag the boat forward on the trailer to solve the problem. I have barn doors on my landcruiser. Ideally I still want to be able to open both doors while the boat is hitched up.
