Trailer up grade from 999kg to 1999 kg - Brake evidence form.

Hi guy's
just in the process of getting boat trailer licensed as a 1999kg model, the licensing agency us asking for a brake evidence form which I can get from Martins Trailers but just can't find it on the DOT website. Does anyone know it by any other name.

My understanding is that any trailer between 750 and 2000kg has to have brakes of some sort, therefore your 999kg trailer you are upgrading should already have brakes. Unless it is ancient and registered before that ruling came in some 20 years ago, in which case it passes under a grandfather clause.
I would also guess that you need an engineers certificate or put it over the pits so they can inspect it.

managed to get a form from Martins Oconnor.
Trailer was an old one that was only ever registered for 999 kg,, hence the brake fitment.
The thing I find amazing when chasing through DOT they couldnt't supply such form from there website, speaking to the guys at Martind they said the only copy they could get was an faxed copy as it doesn't exist on the DOT website. Their licensing people are asking for this "Brake evidence" form but can't supply it.
why I am surprised.
