Different form to the
Different form to the car/trailer one but you can drop it off/pay it at the normal DOT centres. You can't do marine transfers at post offices.
Or you can go into Freo and do it at the Marine DOT centre opposite the esplanade hotel.

yep your right
you can get it done at a DOT office if you want to be sat there 3 bloody hours waiting, the rocky office has 16 sevice cubicles , but no more than 3 maned / womaned at any time the rest of the "customer service officers" are sat at their desks sipping mugs of coffee looking at their comp screens , probably puting on their TAB betts , it bloody infuriates me no end

I've always just printed them off the DOT site ( both the boat and vehicle/ trailer transfer papers) and sent them in ..

theres the problem right there
what happens if your a older person not capable of using the internet ? they are stuck at the dot office for hours and yes plenty of the oldtimers dont use internet , at their age they cant be wasting time at the dot when they could be out on the sound in their dingy catching a feed of herring

how does this work ???
i recently purchased a dingy second hand , i put the transfer form in to DOT well with in the 28 days required , seems if the rego is due to expire with in 28 days of purhase they wont transfer it for some reason then you get hit with a 100 dollar infringment notice for not transfering with in the required time , i took it up with DOT and they said its a system problem apparently computer says "no" because the previous owner has been sent a notice to re reo the boat no drama realy in the end of the day no fine but did spent 45 minutes on hold trying to get thru to DOT "because of the unusal amount of calls " said their answering system wonder why that is

You can transfer a car rego on line now, not sure if you can for a boat but I see all my boat rego details in the DOT Direct area.
