transfering waypoints
Submitted by fisho-ron on Sun, 2010-09-12 11:49
does anyone out there know a easier way of doing this other than manually without losing the info from the navman?
i want to get all my waypoints from the gold card in my navman trackfish6600, transfered to my navonics platium card in my hds10.
is this possible?
cheers

The waypoints are probably
The waypoints are probably on the head unit, not the gold card, so you need to save them to another card that you can read on the computer. Next, you need to reformat the waypoints to something else that the HDS can use and reverse the process, copying it onto a card the HDS can read, putting it into the HDS and importing the list.

thanks till,
that means i will have to get 2x new sd cards because the take differant shapes, but i do understand what you mean,
i might just transfer my best spots and leave the rest, they are still both on the boat anyway, i can use the navman if needed.

Both
If you have both of them running at once when you get on a mark on the Navman ping it on the other set.. It may take a while to get through all the marks but it will give you back up if one goes kaput.

Book
Every 2-4 trips I go through the new marks and write them down in a book plus enter them on to the PC in case of the GPS or book going missing. Even the event marks are listed while they are still in ones memory
