Travelling lure Gallery

I followed the advise and tried to blood the travelling lure.

Cast it a few times in the cut going for tailor but no joy. Then decided to head up for a holiday to Shark Bay/Monkey Mia.

Again despite some cracking looking tailor water failed with the twisty. But somehow had to blood it.

Went out on Unreal Charter and can highly recommend the brothers as not only did we get some good fish but great laughs aswell.

In desperation jigged with the Twisty, and despite not being anything to brag about normally got the lures virginity broken.

So now its Beau go and Im sure he would have more success than this "getting to old for climbing down rocks" man. Good luck.

Conditions look flash dont they!!?

We caught between 5 fisherman the limit which I was a little upset about as we had no storage facility for our share, but the skipper doesnt like C&R as he believes that the fish are knackered and injured, and will only be taken by a shark etc. Pretty interesting view. 2 of the fishers onboard was a new couple with a family that makes the Brady bunch look small. 6 kids to one and 3 to the other, so 11 mouths to feed we gave ours to the family. Most wont believe this but out off 3 Rankin, 1 Pink, 2 Black (Bluelined) Snapper/emperor and heaps of Redthroat the misses and I kept 2 large Flags, which most rate as shitfish, and we dont. Have a few photos of the catch but dont believe in posting "kill" shots.

Have just copied this as the discussion can go on the Travelling lure what happened to it post, but this should be the story and photo!!!

Finally Got Something

Tue, 2015-01-06 10:15

Well we finally got something worth reporting fishing with the travelling lure.

Yesterday was looking like a good day to spend out on the ocean so i talked the wife and son into getting up early and heading out from Mandurah.

We didn't get away as early as i had planned but what can ya do. We launched from Dolphin Quays and trammed thru the estury and out The Cut. Headed south to some ground we'd fished before that usually produced.

We were nearly at the spot when we seen some birds working and some tuna busting up on the surface so out went the Travelling lure along with another favourite little blue minnow.

Took about  minute before the son was on and a nice little one was landed and we headed back after t6he school.

This time it was the wife's brand new AJN Jigging Jacks with a Stradic fj5000,with the little gold twistie that took off.

She was rapt her firts tuna first fish in the new set up and sher got it on the gold twistie.

We had a nice day out and got a good mixed bag with the two tuna the biggest Baldie i've got down this way a small Black Ass and a nice Fox Fish.

The Baldie went 56cm and got in on a little squid tentacle on a 2/0 hook.

I'll send it onto someone else soon.

So the Fishwrecked travelling

Fri, 2015-02-20 11:26

So the Fishwrecked travelling lure arrived - and then things started to go pear shaped, trips cancelled due to boat problems, weather and family. So casting the little twisty into the throngs of a bust up of 20kg Bluefin did not eventuate (if only I had more time).

Oh well - with building pressure I put the boat in on Thursday 19/2/15 off Wallaroo SA. Deployed the twisty upon leaving the breakwater (in the hope of a slim possibility of a kingie being present) and came up with zilch. Went and bagged out on KG whiting (if only they were more partial to a jig) and before heading in deployed the twisty again, this time hoping for - well anything.......

and along came a little - just legal snook. - At least I was not the first one to strike out.

Twisty deployed!!

caught and then released
Had another hit shortly after but the hooks did not hold.

Will be forwarding it on - good luck to those to follow. :-)

Three peat

Tue, 2015-04-14 14:44

Well the travelling lure had a swim with some local salmon today.

One for uncle, one for me and one for long lost fw member rosco. Plenty of fish in great conditions, only downside was dusting the bottom of the motor on an unsighted bombie, luckily we were only travelling slowly.
