Travelling Lure idea
This was a good idea some time ago but I cant recall at all what happened. I would donate a twisty to get it up again.
But Never saw a picture as it was intended!
http://fishwrecked.com/forum/travelling-lure-bit-fun
This was the last intro:
""the idea is, i will buy a lure (lure to be decided) and take it out for a fish, catch one (only one) fish and take a photo of it and post it up here (along with a little story). i will then pass the lure on to someone else, who will do the same thing, then they will pass it on etc..
if the lure is lost, snagged or damaged beyond reapir, the last happy fisherman must replace the lure with another equivalent and forward to the next fisherman.
this should be very interesting seeing how many fish we can get on the lure, and it can be posted all around the state (so the boys up north can show us up hahaha)and it will be a travelling lure, catching everythink from salmon down south to queenies up north.
What does everyone think?? sounds like fun yeah??""
Thoughts anyone, should we do it again?

Should have a letter that goes with it, what it caught, where, when and a small story. Doesn't matter if the lure gets lost, just buy the same again and replace, its all about the concept. Just need some one to drive it really to ensure that it keeps progressing.

Just to update
Sorry Beau, but thought I might have a crack at the first capture. But decided on the spur off the moment to go to Vanuatu. So hopefully crack a nice redbass, troutasaurus or Trevor on it, and it will be on.
Keep you all posted.
Not a fishing trip but a break, but will definitely have a few fishing efforts.
PS: Was all to keen to go to Vanuatu as a last minute call. Luckily just before booking checked the passport. Dickhead- it expired!!! So heading up north to Kalbarri, Denham and Possibly Exxy instead. Im not complaining!!!

OK
I followed the advise and tried to blood the travelling lure.
Cast it a few times in the cut hoing for tailor but no joy. Then decided to head up for a holiday to Shark Bay/Monkey Mia.
Again despite some cracking looking tailor water failed with the twisty. But somehow had to blood it.
Went out on Unreal Charter and can highly recommend the brothers as not only did we get some good fish but great laughs aswell.
In desperation jigged with the Twisty, and despite not being anything to brag about normally got the lures virginity broken.
So now its Beau go and Im sure he would have more success than this "getting to old for climbing down rocks" man. Good luck.
Conditions look flash dont they!!?
We caught between 5 fisherman the limit which I was a little upset about as we had no storage facility for our share, but the skipper doesnt like C&R as he believes that the fish are knackered and injured, and will only be taken by a shark etc. Pretty interesting view. 2 of the fishers onboard was a new couple with a family that makes the Brady bunch look small. 6 kids to one and 3 to the other, so 11 mouths to feed we gave ours to the family. Most wont believe this but out off 3 Rankin, 1 Pink, 2 Black (Bluelined) Snapper/emperor and heaps of Redthroat the misses and I kept 2 large Flags, which most rate as shitfish, and we dont. Have a few photos of the catch but dont believe in posting "kill" shots.

No
That would make it too difficult and slow. If it is a hezza, its a hezza. I was going for tailor as the start but failed in that effort. Knew I caught some fish off Dampier jigging with a twisty so gave it a go.
So any species will do. Might be good to add where you are from so it "travels" the state. Ill look it up.

But it might be best to keep the Lure the same (or similar) so that it is what the same lure catches. Maybe just change the size off the twisty is a possibility. I chose the 40g because it will catch SW fish, and also northern species. But it is possibly a little heavy for down south.
Come to think off it, I forgot the weight. Beau might update that info.

40g Twisty
Was snorkelling down alongside Palm Beach Jetty on Sunday, and found an old 40g Halco twisty, originally gold coloured, lying on the sand. Kept it, and gave it a quick rub with wet & dry when I got home, changed the trebble and tidied her up. Incredibly the gold sticker is still mostly intact, but the gold colouring is now black/green/silver. I'm heading up to Jurien this weekend to have a crack off the beach, and although I have several brand new twisty's, it's gonna be this old clunker that gets the first cast. I'm not sure why, but I get the feeling that the old girl has seen a few fish, and could tell a story or two. If it survives Jurien, I'd be happy to donate it to the cause and see if it can tell a few more stories?
Crasny1 let me know your thoughts...
Cheers,
BD.

Not a good start to the Travelling lure. Lost between here and Beau's address. Beau is going to bye another but It is the responsibility off the person who has it to replace it if lost. And in this case it is lost for some reason by me, so I still have to send one to Beau.
Also Im going to get 2 others moving. Smaller Twisties because most fishers on the list are from the SW it would probably be easier to score a fish on smaller ones, plus the post will be more active and interesting.
I will draw the next 2 out off the hat and notify by PM.
Good luck!

We Got Something Finally
Well we finally got something worth reporting fishing with the travelling lure.
Yesterday was looking like a good day to spend out on the ocean so i talked the wife and son into getting up early and heading out from Mandurah.
We didn't get away as early as i had planned but what can ya do. We launched from Dolphin Quays and trammed thru the estury and out The Cut. Headed south to some ground we'd fished before that usually produced.
We were nearly at the spot when we seen some birds working and some tuna busting up on the surface so out went the Travelling lure along with another favourite little blue minnow.
Took about minute before the son was on and a nice little one was landed and we headed back after the school.
This time it was the wife's brand new AJN Jigging Jacks with a Stradic fj5000,with the little gold twistie that took off.
She was rapt her firts tuna first fish in the new set up and sher got it on the gold twistie.
We had a nice day out and got a good mixed bag with the two tuna the biggest Baldie i've got down this way a small Black Ass and a nice Fox Fish.
The Baldie went 56cm and got in on a little squid tentacle on a 2/0 hook.
