Trolling Inshore Reefs Sandy Cape?

I want to start kayak fishing when i go up to Sandy Cape and im thinking of trolling for things in the little onshore reefs of the main beach but if there are better spots please help me and what type of lures or plastics should i use. Thanks for the tips
