Turtles in Cockburn Sound

How common are turtle sightings in Cockburn Sound ?
Noticed a rather large specimen, with a head almost the size of a rock melon, not far from the D9 late this afternoon !!

seen a few big ones out the
seen a few big ones out the back of garden island lately he probably came in with the storm. Did u notice the big ship tucked in near garden island. I haven't seen a ship sitting there before must of been getting out of the strong winds or maybe he was doing a bit of squiding

biggerfish just been down to CPBA, saw the ship
you are referring to in Cockburn Sound, apparently they are allowed to anchor there to clean their holds out, sometimes they bring in sulpha then they take a load of wheat back, so they have to pressure clean the holds for the wheat, think there was about 7 ships anchoraged in gauge rds., this afternoon all pointing pretty well north.

turtles
id believe it mate must be the leuwin current or what biggerfish said about the storms eh . cant say i have seen any turtles tho a huge manta and while wading for whiting with the kids n missus at alcoa beach noticed what i presumed was a bit of rope floating about 30 mtrs away and 2mtrs in curious as i started heading down there no rope at all but a big red and black banded sea snake all of prob 5 foot long tried to get phone pics but the sun wouldnt allow spewin.

nearly had a stripe in me jocks when it spun round and come at me for a closer look . my apologies biggerfish summer before last late jan . hey ado tasted any your fish yet ? hehehe
