Two Rocks yesterday arvo

Went out from Two Rocks yesterday afternoon on Y-work, with Malynno & Sparks. Got to the boat ramp at around 13:30, to see fisheries performing surgery on a nice 7kg or so pinkie for data, that some guys caught along with two nice Dhu's, one of around 14kg's. Hoped that this was going to be a good sign. Good to see Fisheries at the ramp keeping an eye on things.

Anyway out on the water at last. First time out since the birth of my baby boy, and in desperate need of wetting the mulies head. First drop at a new spot, an undersized Dhu (by Malynno), and a very angry 3kg Cuttlefish a bought on board. Dhuie succesfully photographed and realeased. Cuttlefish boated with no ink being shot out in the boat. Second drop, cuttlefish No 2 on board.. Equally as angry at being pulled from his home, but destined to be marinated in chilli and garlic. This one did manage to shoot a load of ink out, but only in the motor well which was easily cleaned.

That spot went went quiet, so moved on in search of some fish. The next few spots were pretty quiet with no decent fish being brought on board. Eventually headed out to the furthest spot at about 16:00. It was on for young an old here, in an hour and a half, 3 dhuie's (1 undersize) and 3 pinkies (1 undersize), 3 skippy and a few other bits and peices were brought on board. All undersize fish were released well.

The esky for the trip home was stocked with a 7kg Dhuie, a 5kg Dhuie, two size pinkies, and two huge cuttlefish. All in all a great arvo on the water. Some good fish, and a few beers = great day. The conditions were absolutely glamour, virtually no wind, and only a meter swell, with a near full moon. Conditions that would not always turn up good fish, but we did well.

Cheers

Sails
