Agree about not spending a fortune.

One of my mates was down $50 of gear in 10minutes last week. I've been having good strike rates on 5" paddle tails with 5/0 1/2oz heads. Works out about $3.50 a lure and they seem to love the white with blue pearl flick. Happy to play on light gear when it's not going to cost me $30 a time.

Yeah learnt my lesson last year with a hydro magnum. I was flinging out 1.5oz jig head with the white paddle tails at Eagle Bay Sat and the salmon were loving them. Cast a mile!

Was that outa Hillarys unc? Wanna get the Mrs onto a salmon tomorrow if they're around but CBF driving over the narrows.

Cheers Unc. Got into them in 30m this time last year but it's a long drive back with a 2, 4 and 7y old if the wind picks up earlier than scheduled.

When I break out the two kilo gear...

....a six inch McCarthy or Zman with an unweighted G-lock 5/0 does the trick. Get blown away half the time, maybe $2 out of pocket!
