unlucky funny incident

Went for a quick flick down the river the other day, and when we arrived we saw this in front off us!!! Hope it was no one from here.

Was hilarious!!! ..... but bloody unfortunate for the owner!

It was a BMW that had driven half off a 1 meter drop into the water bellow!!!

LoL

Took a long time to get it out.

Also got some bream as well as losing a bream of epic proportions. Guessing it would have gone really high 40s or even in its 50cms to the fork, before it berried me in some snags

Classic!

You don't see that everyday....they are lucky as I imagine the vehicle was recovered relatively unscathed....but to do that they would have to accelerate over the verge first so I do not understand how it could have possibly came about...moronic driver perhaps.

Unlucky about the big fella getting away...I always love reading your reports you have the river gimmick down to an art.

The beemer was a good colour for a bream lure. Maybe they should start manufacturing BMW Blade lures. They would have to come with driving instructions though!

That is bloody funny

Would have to crane that out im imagining.

Temptation would have been there to just drive him forward (possibly losing the rear bumper) and drive it out, water looks shallow enough!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Claremont yacht club if im not mistaken

Steep hill to get into the carpark, I reckon parked on the hill with no/faulty handbrake, in neutral or something?

Edit: Nearmap http://www.nearmap.com/?q=@-31.988668,115.779027&ll=-31.988668,115.779027&z=19&t=h&nmd=20110215

Did you see the incident? From the angle of the car, im not sure if it did come off the hill.

BMW river plunge

Mon, 2011-04-11 10:06

from my local paper:

"A US tourist and his wife escaped injury despite driving their hired BMW into the river at Claremont last weekend.

The couple were here for a family reunion river cruise and drove into the Claremont Yacht Club carpark on Friday afternoon about 5.30pm.

The man accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake and flew over the kerb, across the grass and into the water.

He and his wife were wearing seatbelts but the airbags in the car did not deploy.

"I can't believe you're not hurt," a passerby told the driver as he sat on a chair near the car."
