Update on Carnarvon Jetty Repairs

Latest info on when the long awaited repairs will start is not less than 2 months
Most of the timber etc is there but they have had to construct a large work barge/pontoon to use when they start putting the new piles into place.DOSHWA /WORKSAFE have stepped in and said the pontoon has to undergo marine survey before work can start. This means pulling the pontoon apart, transporting it to Fremantle,re assembling it so narine surveyors can assess its seaworthyness, stability etc before giving a safety certificate. Then pull it apart ,transport it back up and put it back together again.
A price was given to hire/tow another barge up was in the vicinity of $300.000 which was too big a dent in the finances they have available.

WA's getting to be the worst place in the world for bureaucratic interference. Thanks for the update.
