Used Falcon Wagon courtesy of a drunk driver

I know its not fishing related but Just thought this might interest a few as to what can happen when a Drunk driver hits the wrong side of the road exceeding 120kph.
Fortunatly Sandy Only suffered miner injuries and nothing serious.
My limo is now scrap metal and would you believe a Hyundai accent did this. The hyundai crossed over to the wrong side of the road after going accross the median strip on Tonkin Hwy

It truly amazes me the
It truly amazes me the absolute dickheads there are on the road. These school holidays were just amazing on the road. I picked up the kids from Arthur River last saturday arvo. Heading back to Perth 20 odd k's north of Williams and I'm approaching a bend only to find a white commodore ute ( I will find you muthafxxxxr, I have part of your rego, and your face i will never forget) overtaking a truck around said bend forcing me off the road, all the while sticking his finger up at me. Angry is an understatement. If not for the kids in the car, my car would have spun on a dime and then outcome would not have been pretty. To say that I would've "Jackie Chan'd" his arse would be a fucking gross misrepresentation of truth. But alas, kids in car, not seen them for a few weeks.......happy days. The trip to Kalbarri the following day was ridiculous. I witnessed at least 4 different " moments of stupidity " that could have ended with such tragic consequences. WTF people. Wake up. Overtaking in such foolish places only to get held up by the next car, caravan, boat, whatever. Yay. You're a winner. You got to the turnoff before me. Woop fucking woop. As a member of the Kalbarri Fire n Rescue I dont like having to deal with cutting people out of cars, dealing with your friends n family screamimg and crying. FFS wake up people. Its a holiday. It starts when you finish work. The drive is part of it. Enjoy the journey. That too can be as enjoyable as the holiday itself.
Glad to hear Sandy is ok Russ. Sorry to hijack your thread mate but after driving over 2000k this week, and the shit I've witnessed, I'm over it. Wake up peeps. One Life, One Chance.

It's the young ones.
What I find incredible is the amount of young (and in most cases "P" plate drivers) hat are the offenders. The ones that don't give a shit about anyone apart from them selfs.
Glad to hear there were no injuries in this case. Hope the drunk driver was arrested and taken off the road.
Oops sorry just realized how old this post was. Just a newbie so forgive my ignorance.

Are you meant to stop at stop
Are you meant to stop at stop signs anymore? Sure the rules have changed as I've had quite a few cars and trucks just drive straight out from them recently without even slowing down. Don't agree with with your comments on P platers Fish Guts it's accross the board bad driving. Everyone's in a F$&&^ing rush to their graves.

Glad Sandy is ok.
Defintely agree with Sea-kem its not just P platers.
Driving around Mt lawley/inglewood on a daily basis Im surprised everytime i drive, from not stopping at stop signs, traffic lights, cutting off cars and motorcycles to overtaking on quiet, community streets. Wont even talk about the drunks taking the back streets home from the pub.Majority of which are not p platers or hoons in performance cars.
People need to understand that a 1.5 tonne piece of metal moving at 80kms a hour is dangerous at the best of times.

Granted. I don't spend a long time on the road like some of you might. Just reading the papers and on how frequently p platers are the subject of controversy. I had a mate that lost his wife in a car accident near bakers hill on grt eastern hwy yesterday. The driver of the other vehicle was a 76 year old male. as there were no witnesses it's difficult to say who was at fault. It's just surprising on how dangerous the road can be without drunk drivers. people need to realize this.

Whoever is smiling over Sandy is doing a great job. Glad it's all okay Russ, bumps and bruises and a couple of restless nights from the mental scars and then hopefully all is back to normal. Alcohol imobilisers as a standard fit in all cars is my answer to drunk driving, make it law!!!!!!!!

Glad nobody got seriously
Glad nobody got seriously hurt Russ, friggin weak prick running away from an accident, deserves a good flogging.
Soupster51, I'd agree with alcohol immobilisers but someone that's pissed is just going to get thier mate to blow in it. The only solution to drink drivers is education & hoping they remember what they learnt when they leave the pub. My cousin was killed in a head on by a drunk driver about 8yrs ago, I'd like there to be an easy answer like this, but there just isn't.
Meglodon, the driving test & lessons in this country are a joke. There used to be 'unbelievable but true' facts printed in the tv guide years ago, the one fact that stuck with me is that there was a person in WA that took 87 attempts to pass thier practical test. "87 attempts to pass" that means that clown actually has thier licence now & is allowed to drive on the road with us. Surely common sense has to prevail at some point & a person is simply told they are not allowed to drive, end of story. IMO if you can't pass in 3 attempts you should be banned from applying for 5yrs, give you a chance to learn what the hell your doing. Car control courses & defensive driving courses (very different to each other) should also be mandatory. 90% of people on the road have no idea what to do when something does go wrong (car control) or better still how to avoid getting into trouble in the first place (defensive driving).
Worst drivers on the road: The whole bloody lot of em. People simply need to learn that there is a universe beyond the end of thier bonnet.

glad she is ok m8
glad she is ok m8, but my question, driving tests are all good in this country, not the worst i beg to differ, problem is too many people out there drive around with beers as well eg on their lap (the mentality of 1 for the road) after drinking after work or partying etc, with the attitude she will be right m8 as long as the cops dont see me, or have an accident ,and f@@@ the consequences,
i drive on the road day in, dayout 8 hrs plus all over the metro area, even coverng northam and any country towns as i work for termico pest management atm doing slab pretreats, curing etc, i went to northam the other day when that headon occured, that took the life of the lady that was mentioned earlier (condolences to the family) could of been myself half an hour earlier, seen it all, also drove taxis for 4 and a half years as well as working as a concreter/grano worker over the years (not doing that atm due to a back injury), anyway like i say take care out there, dont drink 2 much as well as 1 for the the road attitude, plus forgot to mention the drug drivers as well, anyway take care people ...................................

too much of it going on now
too much of it going on now with the attitude she will be right. usually it is the innocent that suffers. these ones that get caught need to face the family's of the innocent viuctums.
gotta agree with Soupy. the breathalizer is a great idea but mounted on the steering wheel and wont start even with the slightest amount of alcahol detected.

Got 3k for the car as a wreck now to find another. looking at a ute to put our food van onto .
Nathan, your spot on about a pissy driver, by all means have 1 or 2 and your fine but as far as being over the limit when driving they deserve to get busted. usually the innocent that come out worse off in an accident
