VHF Radio channels

Hey guys,

I'm looking at putting together a list of VHF channels to post near my radio on the boat. The missus recently commented that she wouldn't know who or how to call if it turned to poo and I was tied up (I think she might have meant literally). I thought it might be handy to have a full list of the comonly used channels around Perth. Can anyone help out with where I can find a local channel list?

16 and 67 are the emergency

16 and 67 are the emergency channels. Anyone with a vhf on a boat should be listening to either of these whilst on the water with two 3 minute quiet times every hour on the hour and every 1/2 hour. Local coast guard channels vary from area to area. you can radio them on the emergency channels and the will ask you to go to a working channel. Hope this helps.

Thanks Barney. I've got most of the local Sea Rescue ones but I was thinking more of the commercial ones and the boat to boat. Do you know which ones transmit the weather and how often?

Two rocks

when im feeling serious and dedicated i drag the boat to two rocks and launch, there they use 73 to log on and off, as I was politely told off for using 16 the other day although thats what whitfords sea rescue has told me to use so I use that out of hillarys.

You call up on 16 then switch up to 73 to give your message.Once you finish logging on/off go back to 16 with the dual watch capability covering 67 as well.

On a 27 meg set call up on 88 the switch to the stations talking channel.I think from memory 2rocks is 91.When finished go back to monitoring 88.
