VRO Removal

Hi all,

Wondering if any of you have taken a VRO unit off a Johnson outboard? I have seen the youtube segments, is it as easy as disconnecting the two wiring and plugging the oil hose intake? Obviously, you would have to run 2 stroke fuel from the tank before hand. Anything else I need to know?

VRO

I was told by a boat mechanic to fill the ends of the disconnected wiring harness with silicone to prevent any problems with corrosion .

Make sure when you blank off the oil line that you get an air tight seal .

After you do this you cant go back to running the VRO without replacing the VRO/Fuel pump unit (not cheap) .

And lastly , be prepared to go through a lot more oil . (I have some yamalube for sale /swap in the for sale section )
