VSR Dead?

My BEP VSR has ceased working i.e. no charge to the second battery anymore but was working last trip out a few weeks ago. When I had it installed around 2017 the guy left the aux wire bare and didnt seal the terminal end of the negative wire and both corroded so assuming the corrosion has worked its way into the sealed unit and just bite the bullet and replace it?

Jack you could gradually
Jack you could gradually strip the terminal end of the negative wire and hopefully the green corrosion isnt all the way to the unit. Then when the green has gone you could clean the bare wire up with some sandpaper and re-terminate, or solder a new section depending how far back you've gone.
Sounds like the negative isnt making great contact which would mean the VSR cant detect the voltage difference and currently wont close/connect the batteries.

On the money there sstevee
Had similar situation and did what you outlined and all good now.
Also I use circuit board laquer spray on alot of my electronic wiring , fuse boxe etc . $12 can at jaycar and stops any moisture getting in.

Cheers gents the negative wire was clean. Went to Jaycar and picked up a Powertech one for $60 and she's back up and running.
