WA registered car query

Quick one someone can help me with.

Does WA still have rego stickers on the car?? (we no longer have them in SA)

i.e. could police in SA immediately tell if a WA car was registered or otherwise unreg. without making enquiries (they don't have access to interstate databases)

Cheers

Yeah, the WA police turned off their mobile Rego's checking system in the cars because it overloaded the system.

Cheers

SA government are reaping in

SA government are reaping in the fines for expired reg.
Even discovered my wifes car expired three days previous once and I keep religious records, luckily she didn't get done by one the cameras that check the reg and I did it online as soon as aware. Fines are $2,500 per offence here. One motorist (running through camera twice a day to and from work ) racked up more than 15,000 before getting the first fine.......

JMO -

Dont understand why this is an issue and why people talk about being fined etc for UR cars - you still get renewal papers in mail, you can get DOT to send you a SMS to a phone re renewal and/or email. It can be paid online, you could put a little label (Dyno tape thingy) on you windscreen as a reminder. Seems to be plenty of options to avoid driving an UR vehicle. Whats the diffrerence with insurance policies, how does one remember to renew their policies if there paying anually, utility bills and the like - as I said JMO.

Don't have to...

...rely on snail mail. You can get the DOT to remind you via email.

plus for me personally at sea we dont always have access to personal emails as it can be satelite unfortunately
