Wanted - Petrol Jerry Cans to buy or loan for Dirk Hartog mission

G'day all,

Does anyone have any plastic petrol jerry cans I can borrow or buy, for a 10 day trip to Dirk Hartog Island in June. We need to cart boat fuel. We need about 12 jerry cans all up, for about 240L of fuel.

We can buy them if necessary, or borrow in exchange for whatever you fancy.

Or does anywhere know of somewhere we could rent them?

Cheers, any help is much appreciated! Cant wait for DHI!! I've fished Steep Pt many times - always looking over at paradise...

Ewan

You can look in the quokka for the 200lt steel drums, which people are happy to give away for free, you can get the hand pump that fits over the opening... beat carting up all those 12 x 20lts.

Thanks everyone - I'll take stock of what we have already and what we need and get in touch with you - really appreciate your help.

We wanted to go for the 20L just for ease of getting them in and out of the boat and to move them around the boat if we have to...mostly a space and manoevrability thing. The 60L drums sound like a goo idea though...we'll keep that one up our sleeve. Gonna have to get them in/out of the boat, onto the beach, etc, etc...

apparently you can get 44s carted over there for you, but they then sell you the fuel at $4/L or thereabouts...

Only going for a week, and we'll do some landbased fishing too so we wont need megalitres thankfully...

Thanks again!!

Cheers,

Ewan

If you need anymore, I have 2 x 20L ones (plastic) - the standardish tall thin jerry can style and a shorter more squat version.

Yours to borrow if you want em.
