What a strange day fishing today..
Can anyone ID the following fish i caught in the metro area today? One is some kind of trevally and the other a dart but Im guessing theyre quite rare captures this far south? Caught 4 of the trevally and just the one dart, all at the same spot. The first trevally was caught on plastic then when I realised what it was i changed to a little stickbait I bought the other day, first cast it got smashed after a couple twitches and the 2nd cast i caught the dart. Biggest trevally i caught was about 35cms, and at one stage I spooked them with the ski and there were hundreds scooting under us swimming away. My brother also lost a flattie boatside that was around 60cms, biggest ive seen in a while..
