Warroora Station

Hi all,

Only new to fish wrecked however aiming to find some more information on the possible fishing in and around Warroora Station. My family and i headed that way last July for the first time and loved it so much we will make it our annual pilgramidge, only one issue could not find the fish. We had some luck with the Spanniards and Spangled Emporeres however would love to know more on how to catch the mighty Reds, any info or feedback would be great. Cheers

You need to either find big

You need to either find big lumps inshore in about 30-40m or head out deeper and find the schools. Hard coral bottom is where we found them further out. Big baits and heavy leaders and at least 10/0 hooks. They will take anything when on the bite. Best we used was Spaniard scraps. I got my big one on half a Lizard fish.

look for low lying ground off

look for low lying ground off the back end of any sanctuary, just be careful not to enter no fish zones but the sanctuaries are a clear indication of good ground. aim for 40m , plenty reds out there and good rankins too :) if u find ground, mark it because next year that spot might fire harder than this year with the sand movement, spots can disappear in 1 season... maybe troll the first day for a few hrs and mark spots for bottom bashing...hope this helps!
