Warroora Station Report
Submitted by milsey on Wed, 2011-07-20 21:45
I just got back from Warroora last night after a week of beautiful weather, the fish unfortunately were pretty quiet and we had to work hard for what we caught. A few of the old blokes reckoned the colder water shut the fish down a few weeks ago. My highlight would be hooking up to my first marlin, I didn’t get it up but we got a good look when he launched which got the blood flowing. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Great looking place
Great report, Milsey.
Looks like you all had a great time up there...water looks pretty flat and you don't seem to be too far off shore. Bad luck about the marlin but at least you got to see it jump.
What's the boat launching facility like...I'm assuming it's a beach launch like Gnaraloo. What size boat did you have up there and did you have any dramas on the launch or retrieve?

We took our 21ft quinny and getting out was pretty messy, we needed three cars to tow us out because like you said it's all beach launching, but the beach is quite steep hence why we needed so many cars to tow us out. To be honest I don't think we would take such a big boat next time. It did open up going out deeper but the fuel also proved to be bit of a problem with us spending most of our time looking for ground we burnt over 300l, although coral bay is under an hour away it's still a hassle. But next time I'll be looking at taking a bigger tinny as most of the gound we found was under 50m and asseable in a bigger tinny.
