I went to pick up my stradic

Mon, 2009-07-20 15:24

I went to pick up my stradic 2500  i ordered and when i got there they searched high and low for it and then they told me they could not find it and it they would callme as soon as they did! I was shocked as they rang me and said it was there, When i went home to my girlfriends i explained it to her and she said thats nice james go do the dishes.

3 Days later i did the dishes and under the sink where the detergent was, was my stradic brand new in box. The sneaky girl went and picked it up an hour before i did and paid in full :)

I forgave her very quickly for it though ;)

Saved me 250$!

Dishes!

Yeah, takes me about three or four days to get around to it as well!

Okuma Titus Gold high speed troller, retails for between $410 and $450, got it on eBay for $212 including shipping. Came from Malaysia though so don't know what will happern if there's warranty work required!

Abu Ambassadeur 5500C3...paid $180, about the going rate, but when it began having trouble going in and out of gear, took it back to the shop, part needed no longer existed, Abu sent me a brand new Ambassadeur free of charge, and still a dinky di Swedish model!

499 Mitchell

Tue, 2009-07-21 13:01

Went to a garage sale and got a 499 Mitchell for $10.Spotted it all covered in dust on the back of a shelf and pounced on it straight away, didn't even try to bargain with him.
He asked why I was so keen on it after I'd paid for it,told him that it was worth at least $200 on ebay in poor condition.
Took it home and cleaned it up,looked near new and insides were perfect condition. Now have 4 x 499s and 2 x 489s and they are not for sale any time soon

Got my first one around 1970 for high speed spinning from the rocks off Quobba with chrome slices and the iron undertaker/coffin lures and have been a fan of then ever since
