We are moving to Groote Eylandt..yipeee

Hi guys ! At last we have signed contracts, and on the 26th of April, we are moving to Groote Eylandt. 4 days on 4 days off, gives you plenty of time for fishing. But being 500kms from the nearest fishing shop is going to be hard to take, but it will keep Claire away from the shops as well. Have attched a map of area around Groote..mmmm where do i going fishing first, is the question!

Yes mate
Yes they will relocate furniture, car and a boat... so the old traily and Navara, are ready for the trip up. Now just have to stock up on tackle ect A mate of mine who lives on Groote, said the lead weights are worth as much as gold over there!

Great
Great place to work and to spend your off times.
Missed out by one on a supervisors job there about twenty years back and kicking myself ever since for not putting in for an operators position as well.

Got offered a similar spot
Got offered a similar spot right when we had the downturn here around Easter last year. Was hard to knock back when they said week on-week off with a casual position at ET's lodge guiding as a sweetener. Look like an awesome spot.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Big barra rivers to the
Big barra rivers to the west, barra and jacks on the headlands around the island itself, and sails and marlin on the east side. It's a big island so get the Traily ready for some overnighters and go and lose yourself for a night or 2 and get away from the crowds. You'll have a ball.

Yes pj
Yes Pj, cant get much fishing done down here, with weather, around the house jobs and keeping family happy. So with them gone now, i should have plenty of time! Tolleymen originated from around that area mate. "Groote" means big... so when the first women layed eyes on a Tolleyman, She said "Gee thats Big" and the word was spread far and wide.
Ha ha ...Claire is working 5 days a week, and im doing 4 and 4, so she will have no time to outfish me!
