Weather forecast this Saturday

Hi all

I've been watching Seabreeze and Saturday doesn't look too bad, windwise, but the seas are pushing 2m so it could get a bit lumpy out there.

I was thinking of taking a run down to the Bouvards instead of going out wide....closer to shore might offer a bit more protection than being 20 miles out.

Anyone else thinking about going for a fish this Saturday....what's your take on the forecast??

regards

Just out of curiosity how many of you out there go by the winds on seabreeze as opposed to the BOM who say Saturday: E/SE winds 8/13 knots shifting S/SW 13/18 knots during the afternoon. this came of the BOM site

http://www.bom.gov.au/wa/forecasts/yancheplocalwaters.shtml

I only got a boat not long ago and trying to get a hold of understanding the winds but dont know who to go by

have a look at this page -

You will learn over time what works best for you. But just rememeber that all forecast are exactly that FORECASTS. There are no guarantees when it comes to the weather.

Down here I personally check 4 different wind and swell forecasters and make my own mind up.

Saturday's forecast

Thu, 2011-09-22 21:24

Thanks for your comments, guys.

Here's the latest forecast for Saturday from 3 popular weather sites:

Seabreeze shows 7kn ESE in the morning, swinging around to 7kn WSW in the arvo...waves to 1.7m.

BOM shows 8/13kn ESE in the morning, swing around to 10/15kn SSW in the arvo...seas to 1m & swell to 2m

Willyweather shows 5kn ESE in the morning, swinging around to 4kn SW in the evening...seas to 1.8m

As Matt said, these are forecasts and what happens on the day can change. I'll be sticking to my original plan of running down the coast for a fish around the Bouvards, rather than going wide, especially as I'll be going solo...the rest of team gates have abandoned me this weekend.

Let's hope that all those who venture out this weekend can catch a feed while staying safe.
