PDA mughunt

Mon, 2009-11-09 20:39

I went for a dive on the lionfish... found a mug with a number 5 on it.... back on shore it turned into $500 worth of wetsuit.. sweeet!

Never been too much of a fan of the freo PDA charter, excellent dive conditions tho, great 15m vis just out of thompson bay. turned out to be a great day out with an excellent result!

it actually fits too haha, usually find most stuff except the few best prizes are just the stuff they can't flog in the shop ie. (xxxl vest with hood,5 prizes of childs snorkle set,on a boat full of adults)but I'm stoked with my new wettie!

We went wide

Tue, 2009-11-10 06:08

I went out with mark and sangeeta from Perth game fishing club committee and picked up some southern bluefin in around the 50-70m mark.  Good fun on 2kg tackle. We kept heading out wide to the 1200m mark with the big gear out looking for yellowfin or marlin.  We had one run but didnt see the culprit at all.  Picked up some larger SBT on the marlin gear then headed into the 200m mark just checking out what was around.  The ride home in the evening was lovely but the trip out was a bit short n sharp making it uncomfortable.

Gab from the club went out sunday and much the same story although he picked up some good sized Striped Tuna (Mack Tuna).

Cheers

Hit the barges and jigged for sambos but nothing around worth mentioning yet.A few skippy and not a lot on the sounder, apparently the hillaries patch has some but also sharks!
