Weekend fishing

Bit slow to put this up, but had a fairly successful day with two of us fishing in the 40s from Hillarys on Saturday. Little bronzey for fish and chips, two good baldies and a decent breaksea. Surprise was a beast of a flathead. Measured 57cm. My biggest by far. Unfortunately no sign of the ever elusive dhu though!
bonus when pulling the pots on the way in. Total 16 crays. 4 undersize went back.

Great feed there. Certainly
Great feed there. Certainly a nice size lizard .
Curious as to whether the shark was gutted in the pic. They do taste much better when bled and gutted straight away. No need to take the dorsal fin off as it doesn't make any difference.

yeah, we gutted it straight away and had it hanging overboard for bit to really flush it out. first one ive kept, but had heard you need to get the ammonia out or they can taste pretty strong. hopefully comes out alright!

As old shark fishing pro
As old shark fishing pro Carnarvonite has mentioned on here a few times, bleed them out through the tail, gut and thoroughly clean the blood line along the spine as that's what causes the amonia permentation. Always do mine like this and always tasted beautiful.
