West Coast Land Based Fishing Competition Results
Apoligies for the late post but I have had computer problems and too much work.
The latest competition was held last weekend from 4pm Saturday until 8am Sunday morning from north of Two Rocks to Ledge Point . Weed was a problem all along the coast with the weed in the shore break a particular problem
until the wind dropped around 2am, which provided better conditions for those who fished through the night.
Ten Anglers fished the competition and a range of fish were caught including Tailor, Eagle Rays, Common Black Rays, Bronze Whaler, Shovelnose and a Leopard Shark.
The rresults were as follows
First Place Matt J 115 points
Second Steve Herbert 81.2 points
Third Vincent Stacey 72.4 points
Matt had an impressive haul in trying conditions that included three Eagle Rays and two Shovelnose Sharks , Sherbie caught 10 fish in total . The overall tally of fish submitted for the competition was 32 which was a great result for bad conditions.
PS I let Sherbie come second because I had the sense to get in my swag for 6 hours.
Snapper.
