The price difference is a huge jump down for the new 2010 certate. But why is more cheaper than the older certate. Can anyone explain this.

No real difference. Before
No real difference. Before the 2010 Certates were available the Aus dollar got stronger therefore retailing the "older" certates for around $499.
Which is pretty much the same RRP as the '10 Certates.
The older certate only went up around the $600 mark when the dollar was weak...

All that plus the new
All that plus the new magnetic seal gizmo!
Time will tell if it is merely a marketing hype and no real addition to the reels

Marketing Hype??
Bit more than just marketing...
From what I can see on paper, they've now utilise the same spring loaded Anti Reverse system as the Shimanos but with the use of magnetized oil for water proofing. Whereas everybody else use rubber gasket or O rings for water proofing.
Pretty NASA stuff!!
Cheap or not its still $500!!

I got one of the first in
and as far as i am concerned they are fantastic reels even at 650 they would be a good buy.The only down fall i can see is it will still take forever to get back when you send it for a service.Cant wait to see how close they get the drags to shimano on the new range of saltigas.Thats the only reason i dont have a 18000 stella yet.
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?
