Well apart fromn the die hard's that like to fish all year round, what do the others like to do when the weather gets lousy like tonight, besides talk on fishwrecked, i used to be into building fishing rods, which this winter might try and get back into.

Don't need bait in Gosnells!! And forget the expensive lures!!!!!
Just need a bit of alfoil about 4 inches long and as thick as your little finger!!!!!LOL
You'll bring all sorts of critters around

backyard fishin
Try tying a chop bone on a good 4 to 6kg outfit and dragging it across the neighbors yard trying to tempt the dog next door, great fun on light gear and you dont need a release weight

Watch any fishing shows on tv.
Watch all my fishing dvds over and over.
Read new and old western angler and fishing w/a mags.
Post and chat on fishwrecked.
Sort through tackle bags.
Service reels and get new line.
Maintain boat.
Dream some more about fishing.
Pray to the weather gods for a nice day.
Plan trips up north.
Also the AFL gets me through winter.

Go fishing!!!
Pick my days, empty boat ramps, fish in close, wear a beanie and thank god I don't live in Melbourne anymore as this was summer!!!
Winter fishing is way easier, just gotta watch the weather a bit closer. Only thing missing is TUNA!!!

Much the same...
Winter down here can deliver some awesome days, providing you pick your days - the southern ocean is a lot less forgiving than the indean ocean. As Simon said, the ramps are free of 'fair weather fisherman' - the summer fishos are all tucked in bead. Rug up and don the thermal beannie.
Otherwise, it's 'browsing' in tackle stores or watching fishing DVDs until my wife yells at me!
