what size limits and types of sharks are ok to keep for a feed (mainly in Exmouth)
Hi Everyone,
Wanting to ask the question before people jump up and down and jump to conclusions about sizes ect. I know Danny Green caught a tiger recently and got himself into some hot water as a result of keeping it for a feed with the family.
we are heading to exmouth soonish and as we all know the sharks are in plague proportions up there over the past few years.
my question is are there many sharks that come along and help themselves to your prized hooked fish (rankins, spangles, red throats ect) that are actually worth keeping for a feed of flake themselves?
Now lets get one thing straight, this is not aimed at a shark cull or even a shark catching mission, it is purely wanting to know more of what sharks to mainly expect to encounter up there, what is their maximum size limits and perhaps what the bag limit is.
I always fish for the future and we only keep what is needed for a family feed ect. I just want to get some answers on some area's I am not all that familiar with that's all.
thanks for any input and reading and as stressed above please rest assure that I am only asking the question, not specifically targeting sharks.
regards

Northern waters
About the only ones worth taking are the ones a metre long or less, small spinners, dusky whalers, milkies, spot tails, reef sharks and sandbar whalers.
Anything bigger than that is as tough as a dried out board and not as tasty. While pro shark fishing up that way, we sent samples down to Perth instead of exporting it to Asia only to have all the prospective buyers reject it as too tough, we had hand picked small stuff to no avail.
