I caught this squid on a fresh strip of herring on a small gang hooks. Is's the only one i managed to get up the rocks, four fell off!

I have never tried to catch them before, worth getting myself some jigs?

It's a squid squid - also known as Southern Calamari (or a King Fish Jellybean).

Would likely have had 5 with a squid jig....

Stick your fingers under the top of the hood a break away the join inside between the hood and insides all the way back, then pull head and head and guts should come out on one go without breaking ink sac.
Then run fingers down the outside along the join of the wings and hood and breakaway the wings. all the slime outer skin should pull away with the wings leaving a nice white hood.
push the tip of the hood down inside and turn it inside out and then clean the inside up a bit and away you go. Can eat the wings and head/tenticles but I just save it for bait.

Don't need a knife though as per clip
