yum yum
I have heard that speared fish taste different to line caught due to adrenaline stress ???!!!
sounded a bit fishy to me but....there are surely blokes here who have eaten both speared and line caught.

Yep. Had both but never
Yep. Had both but never noticed a difference. Both tasted pretty good.
Does make a bit of sence though. I know when I shot scrub cattle they tasted much better than shop beef.

I am with
I am with Just1more.....baldy for me down south, red emp, coral trout or bluebone up north.
Of the "neighbour fish", Amberjack down here and golden trevally up north are both worth putting on the BBQ.
Boston Whaler 235 Conquest......getting the flogging it was built for.

Any of the Ladjanids and coral troat
The whole Latjanis (Red Emp, Mang Jack, Stripey seaperch (flags) etc) all good and on par with Corals IMO.
Neels
However I am hanging out to get a Robbo as I have heard they are the beez kneez.
After thought for down south --- Any whiting is delish.

Too hard to choose between
Too hard to choose between the northern species... any of the emperors, had some chinaman the other day and that was sensational... chicken of the sea hey. Robbos are awesome too. Fresh tuna has to get a vote as well purely because of its versatility, you can cook it so many different ways.

I could take a high dive into that. I saw this on the random pics, have you done the vid on how to remove the wings ?
also a fan of the cheek flesh on bigger fish.

the vid is in Issue 5 of Reeltime
Just go to the fishwrecked-reeltime button at the top of the screen and then click on Issue 5 also at the top of the Reeltime website page. You can then click on the contents button once the mag loads and select the wings article or the vid page and go straight there.
Cheers

Tasmanian Salmon
Not that I've caught one, but a cutlet of alantic or tassie salmon is to die for for IMO. Just pan fried and still pink in the middle, in terms of fish I've caught I'd say bluebone or jacks.

I'm partial
to coral trout, or locally a king george whiting is hard to beat.
No idea about bluebone, haven't tried it after someone helped themselves to my entire 3kg+ of fillets without even a thankyou.

Herring Gutted and Gilled but scales left on, put in the microwave for 5 mins, eat with cut chilli and soy sauce, scale comes off in 1 piece usually.

Fish
As someone who has just started to eat fish, the best so far are Coral Trout and Smoked Spanish Mackerel.
Coral Trout flesh is whiter than white!
