what's up with the swan?

hey crew.

i dont know if this happens often but i wouldnt imagine it would?

i was at garret road bridge this morning in ascot. and these 3 kids came down with drop nets. i didn't think they would catch anyhing but they proved me wrong. they waded through the water and climbed up onto the bridge then before i left they came back with 8 massive blues all males. they told me they got 14 yesterday.alsowe saw 3 claws all washed up. they told me that they are selling the crabs for $5 each hahah sneaky little buggers. so is it unusual for crabs to be up that far? also theres bream around hungry as hell just couldnt get a hook up.

tell them to show you their commercial crabbing licence, or you'll confiscate their crabs....

my brother lives not far from bassendean oval, and he reckons he has seen people consistantly catching blues on mulie baits meant for tailor!

yea. that area is one of my favourite bream spot. at least u don't get those stinkin' blowies like at canning bridge. i've had quite a number good sized bream from ascot but it's pretty hit and miss. and they don't go biting all day. bream there is only good in summer though imho. i haven't had much luck during winter. but i would say causeway would be a good spot during the mid of winter.

 oh man.. that is really

Thu, 2011-01-20 01:24

oh man.. that is really sad... darn... i think it might be cos of the salt levels. the blowies don't go that far up till later in summer/fall. even then, garett bridge area don't really have that many blowies. i can usually just sit there the whole day with 1 single bait untouched if the bream are not on the bite.
