Whens Sambo season kick off?

My dads coming over to Perth 1st week of October from South Australia, would like to give him a change from catching his usual KG after KG after KG when he gets here, hoping sambo charters might be running by then ???????

Rub it in why dont you, hehe.

Generally sambo season wont have started in October. That said, there should be fish on the gemini/other inshore wrecks about that time I would have thought? Also, i've found amberjacks at the barges, and sporadic sambos out of sambo season (cant recall oct though).

But in general, the season wont have started and there wont be any charters for them (unless you book a charter yourself, but no guarantee with the sambo numbers).

Seems Jurien has a fair few sambos kicking around though (but not the huge ones you get in season).

yeah i just sold my boat not long ago so am dependent on charters at the moment, not really keen on going for a deep sea charter out of perth, waste of time going from past experiences, sambo jigging trips however have always been productive :)

actually .... is blue juice still doing those mega extra deep sea charters? might be the other option worth considering.

The problem is, without a boat, you have to rely on charter operators who know where to go (and want to go).

Though, perhaps someone might have two spare deckie spots and a bit of local knowledge?

Fishing the perth warters deeper than any other charter company, Being the original and still the only charter company to take you out beyond 200 meters for these prized deep water fish. Saddle Back Cod, Ruby Snapper, Hapuku are the main species on offer, though there are many others out there wating to take your Hooks.

Blue Juice Charters are the first and only Perth charter company to offer these Extreme Deep sea Fishing Charter trips to you,

I'm not sure they ever even ran them last year after the roasting they copped here last time the season was closed.

They were proposed on the premise that they could still catch ruby snapper (& gemfish), but at the same time failed to realised they were excluded as tropical snapper.
