Where to catch a marron?

Can anyone give us a good little spot to catch a few decent marron cos im sick of going home empty handed? Around the dams are full of bogans who ruin your night and snaring is pretty hard. Tried the Harvey river with no success as well. PM me if you dont want to advertise a good spot. Cheers

yeah right
I wouldn't take swompas advice unless you have a lot of spare time on your hands and a good lawyer on tap.

Didn't say I caught them, I
Didn't say I caught them, I was saying that I saw them. On a walk in the bush, we walked over one of the bridges up there and there were three of the bastards just sitting in the shallows.

Mate have you actually been
Mate have you actually been down to harvey dam?? or just going on what others say. I was down there last weekend, and not a bogan in sight, was a great afternoon night having a BBQ and a few beers in piece and quiet.

As bodie said !! I was at
As bodie said !! I was at Harvey last week and managed 12 good ones (between 3 of us ) and that was on a windy night with the moon almost full!! AND we were on the wrong side of the bank (i.e.. Moon behind us casting shadow into the water and the wind in our face making waves/ripples/murky water in front of us )
didnt have anyone else near us either. It was my first time snaring too so I was pretty stoked ... Home made snare using a 3m+ lengthy of bamboo a for the pole !!

Did better than use Luke, we
Did better than use Luke, we only managed 1 and only saw about 5. Very spooky with the moon. We were on a southern bank and got the easterly when it came up and the moon when it came up!
We could see a few people up and down the bank, but couldn't hear anyone. Think most were there for the piece and quiet!

head down
head down to the south west , sneek onto a farm at about 2am and raid a dam , but be prepared to dodge bullets and you better be able to out run a couple of pig dogs [especially if you raid a dam in the Collie area]
