where is good fishing Walpole/Nornalup way

We are heading to Nornalup & Walpole the first week of September. We have a little tinny with a 2HP motor, and we were hoping for a heads up on some bream or any fish action around that area please.

For beach fishing in Nornalup

For beach fishing in Nornalup try the blue holes. Just after you drive over the bridge at Nornalup and pass the chalets on the left there will be a right hand dirt road maybe 200m past the chalets so turn down there and travel down the dirt road to you see a shed on the RHS and turn up that track and follow it to the beach. There is conveyor belt on some of the uphill tracks so that way you know you are heading in the right direction. Let your tyres down to 18psi as the beach can be soft i let mine down to 15psi and have no troubles

Once you are on the beach pick a spot for beach fishing as lots of gutters and you used to be able to drive to the left as far as the inlet and go right until you reach the rocks and fish from there with a little berley and you should do ok for Herring,Skippy,Tailor,Salmon,Dart, sharks, Basically this is what you can catch along that whole stretch of beach.

Peaceful bay is another good spot to fish and good beaches for the family and really good beaches and rocks to fish from up some of the sandy tracks just out of town. Maybe 5 k heading West along the sand tracks West of the caravan park. Drive around town and past the local houses and the road takes you to a gravel track. You'll see an infomation board on the gravel road on your left if you are on the right track heading West and all tracks are on this board. Outstanding and breathtaking views out there

Nornalup inlet.

With a tinnie and motor that size the Nornalup Inlet is probably your best bet. Head over to where the inlet runs into the sea and fish just inside the inlet before it gets shallow where it runs out , there are a couple of channel markers just fish around them for KGW , herring , skippy and flathead. The Franklin river which you access from the inlet is where there's nice bream.

Try between the mouth of the Deeep river and the small island, even head up into the deep and look for snags etc. Also the entrance to the walpole inlet and the nornalup is not a bad spot.If you launch from Rest Point both those spots are real close. If you launch from the yacht club check the shallow weed banks and mussell beds out to the left toward the Franklin, some big bream come from there. Its a long way to cross to the ocean side so before you do that i would check wind reports etc,a few tinnies have been sunk before on the tide change.

Cheers

because when we're all fishermen, it doesn't matter what your footy passion is....

Freo for premiers!  I'm still happy and smiling after saturday nights performance.  they have the skill, they have the game plan, do they have the fitness to keep that intensity for four weeks on the road?  I hope so!
