Gday All
With more people getting into this now i was just wondering what setups everyone are using? Rod/Reel/Line.
Im looking to buy a new combo for it so would help with narrowing down the options.
I was using a mates Nitro Vapor 1-3kg with a 2004 luvias the other day and that was nice to use.
I also have a Diawa Aird 1-3kg with a 3000Ci4 stradic wich didnt work the small lures so well. Im guessing thats because of the reel and 15lb line i had on it.
Cheers Jayce

Using 2
but when the boss fishes with me she "owns" one. I have a 2 SustainFG 2500 running 6lb with a little lighter leader than ben's at 8lb Vanish fluorocarbon. Rods are a Diawa Black label 3-5lb 6.8Ft (the bosses) and the other (mine) is a Samurai Reaction 7ft 3-6lb very fast taper. These are light enough to go all day long and also flick the lures out well. I actually prefer using the Black label setup when I have a choice.
Reason the reels are not 1000 types is I also use these setup for Bread and butter fish off the beach. Tailor on these are a blast

Majorcraft Slicer 2-6lb +
Majorcraft Slicer 2-6lb + Shimano Complex 2500C F6 Ci4+ with Duel Hardore X8 PE0.6.
Try not to use flurocarbon leader because FC is heavy, will sink and sandbag the action of top water lure when u wanna walk the dog or skip across surface. Mind you, whiting lures are 2g-6g in weight hence very sensitive to heavy leader.
Having said that, I am struggling to find 6lb mono leader. Force to use mainline material for leader.

Hey mate I'm using mine
Hey mate I'm using mine setup for not only just whiting but for all my light lure flicking set up
i have a stradic ci4+ with 8lb frog braid on it matched with a pluger supreme 2-4 kg rod 6'10''
it works well on the flats for whiting but if u want to go into the river it works well for bream
