Why I live in Exmouth

Well, just got home from a lovely morning on the water. Launched the boat at Tantabiddi at 9.15, lines in the water by 9.30, first dolphinfish from the school at 10.00. (lots of hits before hookup) First black marlin came at 10.50, landed 11.20 with a 10ft tiger on his tail under the boat the whole time. Teasers out and before the lures hit the water a school of dollies swim under the boat. 5 minutes into trolling the second black marlin hookup, spits the hook on the jump. Less than 5 minutes later the third marlin smashes the lure and goes on a 100m airborne run and spits it. Pulled the lures in as it was just too good to be true, went a did some driftbaiting, 4th fish was a beautiful Coral Trout. Back at the ramp by 12.45 before the tide got too low and it became a full beach retrieve. My sisters first real fish in 17 years and it was magic. Photo's to come...

PS. Feel sorry for Mako, Paul and Jesse - 5 days non stop trolling for no sight of a billfish..... :( Some days its just too easy.

Cheers,

Adam

Cracker of a session Adam and congrats to Sis.  She looks a little 'oh yeah' another fish in that last pic.  Spoiling her!

Hmm, might have to escape work for a week very soon.

The Dolphinfish is particularly ball-breaking because they were so light on during my last trip to the FAD.

Saw Matt, Paul and Jesse at the ramp this arvo. Guess what they're going billfishing tomorrow. :) They got a very nice coral trout today and a heap of other good fish they released. I really hope they get one tomorrow.

Just for the record, no Jesse, you can't have my gps spots for the marlin. Kiss LOL

Tunnel Vision

Tue, 2008-06-03 20:00

Pays not to have to much tunnel vision on trips up north otherwise you can miss out on lots of great fishing. Just let things happen and they often will.

Hope the guys pin one tomorrow. Their obviously keen enough to keep putting in the hard yards/hours.

yeah as menopaul said he

Sat, 2008-06-07 08:33

yeah as menopaul said he went  spasso at the boat when i grabbed his bill, got him aboard for a quick pic and as paul and i were holding him, we could feel all this weired shaking from him, then nothing, got him right back in the water and travelled around for like 40 mins or so to try and revive him with no luck at all, our guess he must have had a heart attack or something, was a shame to see it die, though, luckily the 2nd one went back straight away with no hassles

ps, russel around 7-9 knots pm me your home number and ill give you a buzz one day let you know some stuff
