Wifes first YFT or - is it a bigeye ?

Was up in coral bay from 5/10-11/10 blowing its guts out only managed to go out through north passage on one morning at 6:30. Pulled 2 of the old faithful Halco red deep divers looking for mackies in the 20 -30m line along with a 6inch green /yellow jethead with tuna in mind. Trolled for about 2 hours saw bust-ups and birds feeding out far so decided to head out. On the way there hooked two fish at once  both on deep divers in 48m line. Wife got hers to the boat just before getting sharked and i managed to gaff it. Mates ran around the  prop just before being eaten by the same shark and snapped off the leader his looked about the same size. Length of wifes was 103 cm I called it for about 10kg mate thought closer to 12kg. Ive never seen a  YFT or a bigeye in the flesh yet which is it? - i presumed YFT but the two long fins in front of the tail dont look long enough (? cause its not full grown yet) - it did kind of have a pretty big eye in proportion to its head.

YFT all the way. Every differentiation from a big eye and less likely LTT ticked.

However this always happen

Its like the Diamond trevally or Pennant fish arguement.

Those of you

that think it's not a YFT here's what is on good old FISHWRECKAPEDIA.

Yellowfin Tuna - Thunnus albacares
Sun, 2010-04-18 02:16

Yellowfin Tuna are dark metallic blue, changing to silver on the belly and with about 20 white vertical lines. There is a golden horizontal stripe running from eye to tail and often an iridescent blue stripe running parallel. The second dorsal and anal fin and the finlets between those fins and the tail are bright yellow, giving the fish their name. Larger Yellowfin (40kgs) are characterised by an extended second dorsal fin and anal fin giving the appearance of a sickle. The caudal keels on the wrist of the tail are dusky and never yellow as in the Southern Bluefin Tuna.

Juvenile yellowfin tuna have shorter dorsal and anal fins.

YFT can grow to over 100kgs and 2.1metres in length.

Yellowfin are rated second to Southern Bluefin Tuna for sashimi and behind Albacore when cooked. Bleeding and chilling the fish immediately on capture greatly improves the quality.

They are found in all Australian waters.

I'm leaning towards the longtail too. Little hard to tell without a good pic of the pectoral fin though. Longtails have a stumpier pec and the yellowfin/ bigeye have a longer and thinner profile pec.

The smaller a tuna is, the harder a definitive ID is.

Colour is the last identifier of fish.
FWapedia has one error, bigeye tuna consistently get higher prices than YF (similar to BFT) so it would be fairly safe to assume it is more desirabe for sashimi.

for my money it doesnt look familiar so id guess LT, but never really had anything to do with them.
