Woosha has resigned
Submitted by sea-kem on Thu, 2013-09-05 15:34
It seems the messiah has quit. My hat is off to what he has achieved at the club with two grand final appearances and 1 flag. Personally I think his tactical game plan had been thoroughly compromised this year and together with a horrendous injury list compounded the problem even more. So interesting days, months and years ahead for Eagles and I have no doubt we will be restored to the power house we once were. A fresh list of players next year and some fresh thinking on the coaching side of things will be a good thing. GO EAGLES!!!

it takes a special calibre
it takes a special calibre of coach to be called a premiership coach. I hope the next coach you should choose is that type of calibre because you just got rid of one.

My story has about as much
My story has about as much merit as yours mate. do you not think WC have told the media about as much as they want you to know? Neither of us can know for sure but its about time to look at the situation objectively before you choose the blue pilll or the red pill

Well mine story comes from
Well mine story comes from the club its self. Where does your's come from? A mate in the pub? Your girlfriend? Get real 'mate' you're pumping yourself up with bullshit. For all I know your 'story' might be true. But it's a 'story'. Don't write naive and ill informed comments about something unless you have facts to back it up.

Quitting
No fan of WC but Worsfold can feel proud in leaving - dual Premiership Captain and Premiership Coach, not a bad effort!

Players
Too many players that only run 1 way and read too much about themselves IMO.
Certainly time for John to move on either the game plan isn't working or the players can't execute it

well done
Must admit he was a good player and good coach. But seeing as we Freo supporters owe the Eagles a few, when you say sussed out the game plan - you mean ducking worked well for you last year but teams were prepared this year! lol.

Yep good thing Andy
Whats wrong with suma you would think he's better than scotty. Scotty only knows wooshas coaching game.
Only problem is WC will have to wait for the two new clubs to rise to the top dominate for a few years then there is Fremantle on the rise and a couple of others whom you will need to put up with until they go over the hill. Could be 6 or 7 years till your 'new team' is placed in the top few. Good luck in the future thou.

Congratulations to woosha on
Congratulations to woosha on a great footy and coaching career. If he pulls up stumps and tries something else he can hold his head up high and proud. Has done the right thing leaving on his terms rather than ending up as another sacked coach. Good luck woosha in whatever he pursues. And I truly hope his personal life improves without what must be enormous pressure and scrutiny. Thanks for the bonecrunching memories.

best hit i got
when I was in vic playing vfl and vfa I was going out with Mark McClures sister (ex carlton vice captain at the time)we were chucking the footy about at his mum and dads on xmass day, grid iron style when he completely blind sided me , spent 4 days in hospital pissing blood , try to keep it quite from the clubs but ended up get a bollocking from both clubs for fraternizing with the enemy, I don't think mark liked me much broke up with his sister not long after that

Congrats to Woosha on a
Congrats to Woosha on a successful career as coach, making it into the finals in 8 of his 12 years as coach is quiet a fair effort. Still get the feeling that the players let him down badly in the last 3 weeks of the season. They really need to lift their game next season, they've got the players, just need a better run with injuries.

this is just purely a disgrace..............
this is me venting...I am a one eyed eagle supporter..
To all WCE supporters that are saying anything negative or untoward to JW is a F******* joke and you shouldn't be considered an eagles supporter.
- JW has been involved as either captain or coach in all WCE premiership wins or GF appearances.
- He served the club 24 years gave it his ALL
- He is part of a very few coaches that can claim to captain & coach the same club to premierships
- He is a MESSIAH of the WCE as he has been involved in neally all of the clubs on field success
Its just a sad sad day just to personal reasons which I will not elaborate on here as major contributing factor to him leaving.
WCE did not push him of the club, though I did have a feeling that they may not of extended his contract and this what his feelings to.
JW is one of the all time greats of the WCE.
my 2 cents.

being a west coast fan - bit
being a west coast fan - bit of mixed feelings with Woosha leaving, dont want to see him go, but i think its best long term for the club. you could just see he was a spent man.
overall its been a rough year for the boys - im hoping they go and recruit some mature age ready players, our depth struggles and we were found out this year with the lack of it, fingers crossed the boys can rally for next year, never know new blood and new coach could be the tonic.
not sure who they will target next - IMO i wouldnt mind seeing vossy in the chair, just hope they dont choose suma, fk me....

Most probably formed the best half back line in the business along with Mckenna and Jakovich .. I wonder when Mckenna is out of contract , Hardie on the radio was saying WCE have also tee'd up talks with Mark Harvey

Mckenna
you might be on to something there chris , I think he just another two years but I bet he has a get out clause , for a situation like this came up could be a dark horse for the job and if some has cut wooshas grass he should have a word to glen archer apparently he doesn't like blokes having their grass cut (think cary / stevens )
