would you buy one?

would you ever use one of these cheaper motors coming onto the market? personally ive never had any trouble with cheap small motors weather it be chainsaw, bike etc but for putting round the river, i would think one of these would have better reliability the a 2nd handy at the same price, thoughts?

Maybe OK for river use but wouldn't use one if I was heading out ocean side.  Not really a safety factor if you can't start your chainsaw or motorbike...

If your chainsaw breaks down you don't have to swim home! Saying that they may be ok- although there aren't always rewards for being a pioneer

No chance. If theres one

No chance. If theres one thing ive learnt its to buy the best quality i can afford no matter what its for, whether it be my tools for work or my fishing gear or anything automotive. Too many times ive gone for the cheap "bargains" only for it to be a heap of crap and break and then need to spend extra on replacing it with a quality product. So for me i wouldnt touch it!

pfff .that size donk i couldnt see to many hassles ..if its on a tender or something similar.just make sure rthe oars are on board.cant see you going to wide on a 5hp except maybee the deep end of the swimming pool..cheap.or you could buy one of those new cordless high powered drills and stick a shaft and prop on it .probably go quicker and have more torque!!!!!!!!!!

ive seen some pretty dodgy ones but its a thought if you where to sell a tinny and keep your good motor it would be a cheap repower and good selling point in a sence.

What could possibly be the worst case? Youre not going out wide with it, not expecting 10 years of constant work out of it and it's hardly going to over power the gear box or anything.... see nothing wrong with it.

If it was a 225h - very different story for a non brand.

i would give one a shot.

Remembering once that all johnson, evinrude, honda, mercurys etc were new.

Even the best name brand products have problems today.

You will find, specially with engines, the no brand names usually dont live up to what they say they are, that engine 5hp, probably can only do 3hp..

I've had a few non brand items that claim they can do this and then finding out a completely differen't story.

Hi

Sorry to revise an old post, but has anyone tried these motors, and if so, got any feedback?
