Wrist mount for GoPro

A friend asked me to make a simple mount for his GoPro. I didn't have time to mount it to his spear gun so i came up with a sleave mount.

I started with a length of marine alloy gave it a slight bend to clear the wrist .

I stuck on the mounting plate but also wanted to add some screws just to make sure it didn't fall off.

The finished mount  . Ready to slip under the wetsuit sleave.

This is how it fits under the wetty.

Cheers Grant..

very clever. you could always use a velcro strap to hold it on if you use a short sleeve wetsuit                                    . spose you could even make one to go on the head.

couple of stainless screws and a screwdriver and it would never come off, may hurt a bit tho

 Simple but effective. Gopro

Simple but effective. Gopro actually sell a wrist mounted housing but it faces out from the wrist instead of down the arm, so good to have one facing forward.

Is your friend going to get a focus fix underwater housing? One of the unfortunate things about the gopro :(

I have a hd2 as well and they're great cameras!

The prob is because they're fixed focus and a curved lens, they go a bit blurrier underwater. Can still get usable video out but it won't be crisp HD like they normally do. So for crisp UW, you need a housing with a flat lens. A few people sell the, like eye of mine. Been meaning to order one myself actually.  I think tailor marc has one of those housings (see his Freo UW thread).

And definitely your front facing mount is more useful!
