Xmas break reports?

Managed to squeeze a quick fish in this arvo, was quite warm but wading the flats made it quite comfortable.

Alot of weed above in lower reaches but still managed 2 bream, a flatty and a herring in about an hour or so of chuckin lures, quite slow compared to other days but nice to be out there.

Anyone else get out for a fish?

Heaps of huge gardies swimming around petes pool all the way up to Grant Street. Big suckers of up to 50cm and very fat. Filleting was worth it...gardie sandwiches rock....

Going tomorrow early

Sambo's

Thu, 2006-12-28 14:20

Sambo's , Sambo's & more Sambo's , jigged up some good pinkies too ( got a tagged recapture as well), saw a crystal blue snap in half from high sticking.

Boy do they go off with a BANG,

The couple of days I went out were fantastic , I have put 79 Sambo's thru my Saltist 40 / Black Tiger combo and really want to break the ton before the end of January .

SALTIST

Sat, 2006-12-30 16:15

Mate the Saltist 40 I have is excellent , still pulls just over 10 kg drag and gets the Sambo's up fast , I was going to get the Hi Speed model but the torque on the standard model is fantastic and 4.9 ratio gets the jigs working just fine ( working the jig is more important than the speed of the jig;) ), the biggest fish would be 1500 mm or there abouts , don't bother measuring or photo's anymore , all the sambo's look the same after a while :) :) :)

I have 50 lb braid on it and I havn't had any trouble stopping the fish, highly recomend the reel for the value .
